We automate tasks when possible and when beneficial. Our general criteria for automation is

• is this a task we don’t like doing?
• that we have to do on a regular basis? At least monthly.
• that does not require independent thought?

Those questions define the baseline criteria that helps us identify tasks to automate. The final remaining question is much more difficult to answer, and thus is held separately.
